From Early Education to APAC Leadership in Logistics Tech

You hear it all the time in logistics: “Small world.” And it is—tight networks, familiar faces, chance run-ins at trade shows oceans apart. But what we sometimes forget is just how big this industry really is. Behind every shipment is a web of talent that crosses borders, career paths, and even entire industries that most people don’t realize are part of the supply chain.

Just ask Gulin Wardlaw, BravoTran’s APAC lead.

Before she ever booked a shipment or demoed a platform, Gulin was the owner and operator of a number of childcare centers in Dubai, building a business from the ground up and sharpening the same skills that would later define her success in freight forwarding: operational excellence, people management, and customer service.*

When she stepped into logistics, she didn’t just switch careers—she stepped into a global network that felt like it had been waiting for her.

“They told me, ‘We’ll teach you freight—just bring your service skills.’”

That first opportunity came through Concordia International, where she started as a customer service rep after selling her childcare business and moving back to Australia. She wasn’t looking for logistics—but logistics found her. From there, her career moved fast.

At one of BravoTran's competitors, she became the company’s first sales hire in APAC. She helped close early deals and build momentum, but the fit wasn’t right for the region. The product had promise, but contract flexibility was a challenge in a market dominated by small and midsize forwarders. Eventually, the company pulled out of APAC—and Gulin was ready for her next chapter.

She found it at BravoTran.

“When Logan [Pritchett, VP of Sales] showed me the product, I said, ‘Oh wow.’ It just works. That makes all the difference.”

Gulin had known about BravoTran while working in the region—they were once competitors. After a short break to focus on family, an introduction from a colleague in Singapore led to a conversation with BravoTran leadership. It clicked.

Now, as the first remote hire in APAC, she’s helping BravoTran grow across a complex and promising market. She recently traveled to Dubai with Logan to meet clients—a trip that doubled as a personal homecoming.

“Dubai will always have a special place in my heart. I lived there for 13 years. Going back with Bravotran felt like a full-circle moment.”

Outside the office, Gulin is just as dynamic. She’s a grandmother, a hiker (we’re talking 12 to 15K treks), a climber, a diver, and a cornerstone of a big, blended family that’s always moving—but always connected.

Building the Future of Logistics

Gulin’s story reminds us that logistics is everywhere—and it’s powered by people who come from all kinds of backgrounds. It’s not just containers and customs. It’s writers, tech pros, customer service experts, real estate planners, insurance brokers—and yes, former childcare business owners who end up running APAC growth for the leading provider of accounts payable automation solutions to logistics companies.

What does the industry need more of? Women. Women in leadership, women on the rise, and women discovering just how many doors this field can open. Because logistics isn’t just about moving goods—it’s about building careers that move the world.

The future of logistics is diverse, collaborative, and wide open. Let’s make sure more women see themselves in it.
